The problem
An Education, Health and Care Plan sets out the support a child with special educational needs is legally owed. Gathering the reports and drafting one took council staff more than 15 days.
When a plan is late, families take the council to tribunal.
What I built
Built on QuickAction’s pipeline. The app collects every input document, pulls out what each section of the plan needs and writes the draft in the council’s own format.
The hard part: every council had its own file system, its own input documents and its own output template. None of it could be hard-coded.
What came out of it
Drafts in a fraction of the time, so plans go out on time and families don’t have to file a case. The saving across councils runs into millions of pounds.
